Position Specific Description

Transportation & Logistics

  • Manage and optimize relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and asset-based carriers.
  • Plan and execute large-scale, complex logistics projects across multiple transportation modes.
  • Analyze transportation market trends to support sourcing strategies.
  • Evaluate capabilities and implement improved logistics systems and processes.
  • Collaborate across Sourcing, Materials Management, and Operations teams.
  • Support emergency and storm restoration logistics operations.

Customs & Trade Compliance (Day-to-Day Tactical Execution)

Import Compliance (U.S. Customs)

  • Act as Importer of Record (IOR) representative.
  • Review and approve commercial invoices, packing lists, and CBP Form 7501.
  • Validate HTS classifications, duty rates, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review broker filings for accuracy.
  • Manage Section 301 tariffs and AD/CVD screening.
  • Ensure TSCA and other regulatory certifications are completed.
  • Maintain records per 19 CFR requirements.
  • Audit broker performance and drive corrective actions.
  • Resolve customs holds and delays.

Export Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
  • Validate ECCN classifications and licensing requirements.
  • Review AES filings and export documentation.
  • Screen denied/restricted parties.
  • Provide guidance on export routing and documentation.

Trade Advisory & Governance

  • Provide guidance on Incoterms and compliance risk mitigation.
  • Support SOP development for compliance processes.
  • Lead or support internal audits and regulatory inquiries.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Maintain relationships with brokers and regulatory agencies.

Job Overview

The Senior Trade Compliance Analyst leads and supports complex regulatory compliance efforts within NEER, focusing on SOX, CFTC, and FERC requirements. The position involves analyzing trading activities, identifying compliance issues, and managing compliance audits with limited supervision. In collaboration with various teams, the Senior Analyst drives reporting and compliance improvement projects and educates staff on updates to regulatory standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop rigorous compliance processes and procedures
  • Oversee compliance policies and ensure their implementation throughout the business units
  • Perform comprehensive reviews and assessments of compliance activities
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on compliance initiatives
  • Analyze complex trading data to identify non-compliance issues
  • Provide in-depth training and mentorship to less experienced analysts
  • Ensure timely submission of compliance and audit reports
  • Recommend improvements or changes to compliance strategies
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience
