Join us. **Job Description** AECOM is seeking a **Senior Traffic Engineer** to join our established transportation engineering team in Atlanta, GA. This role is ideal for an experienced traffic engineer who enjoys leading technical design, shaping analysis approaches, and contributing expertise across a wide range of traffic engineering projects. You’ll work closely with a respected group of engineers on meaningful studies and design efforts that support our client's real‑world transportation decisions. A hybrid work option is available. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Lead day-to-day traffic engineering production, assigning tasks and maintaining schedule and quality to deliver traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, traffic simulations, and conceptual designs + Perform detailed QA/QC reviews of deliverables prior to submittals + Support the development of technical approaches on projects + Ensure compliance with GDOT standards and requirements + Develop and track scope, schedule, and budget; proactively identify and communicate risks or issues to the PM + Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers to support team performance and development + Coordinate effectively with clients and subconsultants + Represent AECOM at stakeholder meetings and public engagements. + Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines on larger projects that require traffic engineering services **Qualifications** **Minimum :** + Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related discipline + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education + Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Georgia or the ability to obtain within 6 months **Preferred:** + 12 years of relevant experience + Experience in an applicable industry and GDOT standards, regulations, and guidelines, including MUTCD and traffic analysis software. + Experience and training with the GDOT Plan Development Process + Experience with the GDOT Pedestrian and Streetscape Guide and similar documents + Experience producing technical memos and reports + Experience presenting to clients and/or stakeholders **Additional Information** + Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. + Relocation is not an option for this position Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
