Responsibilities include: design and management of transportation projects; ongoing business development of transportation design services market with local agencies; gain greater access into larger agency markets with a focus on the Alaska Department of Transportation's Infrastructure Projects; coordinate business development within the civil department and across the Transportation Market Segment.
Duties include:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (PE required)
Minimum seven (7) years successful experience in providing professional or construction related services.
Minimum two (2) years project management and team management experience
Experience with planning, design, permitting, & project management.
Knowledge of ADOT & PF staff, procurement procedures, design manuals, standard specifications, transportation plans, and issues.
Knowledge of Alaska public funding sources & processes.
Working knowledge of FHA, BIA Tribal Transportation Program, AASHTO and municipalities design standards.
Knowledge of permafrost and remote Alaskan design and construction
Ability to develop project scope, schedule, and budget
Understanding of Earned Value project management tools/techniques
Demonstrated track record of completing projects on time and on budget
Proven track record leading and managing projects within Alaska
Demonstrated leadership skills
Outstanding written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills - ability to work on multiple/complex projects in diverse areas
A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred)
