Are you a seasoned engineer who sees beyond the pavement? Thompson & Litton is seeking a visionary Senior Transportation Engineer to join our Bristol, TN team. Whether you are managing complex DOT projects or mentoring the next generation of engineers, your expertise will directly impact the safety and connectivity of our communities.
The Role: Lead & Innovate
As a Senior Engineer, you won't just be part of a team—you'll be the engine driving it. You will:
- Lead Multi-Disciplinary Projects: Oversee the lifecycle of diverse civil engineering projects for DOT and private sector clients, from initial RFP to final delivery.
- Master Roadway Design: Apply advanced engineering principles using Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD) to create high-standard highway and safety designs.
- Drive Business Growth: Work closely with Project Managers on business development, scoping, and budgeting to win and execute impactful contracts.
- Mentor & Influence: Serve as a senior technical expert, providing Quality Control (QC) reviews and fostering the growth of junior staff.
Your Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years of robust experience in roadway design and transportation regulations.
- Credentials: A valid Professional Engineer (PE) license (TN, VA, or reciprocity).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Versatility: Proven ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects concurrently with exceptional communication skills.
The Ideal Candidate (Preferred)
- A diverse background including traffic design, stormwater management, and hydraulics.
- Familiarity with Virginia stormwater regulations.
