Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM's Portland Transportation group is actively seeking a highly‑motivated, experienced Civil Engineer with experience in roadway, highway, and/or civil site design. This role will be part of an established surface transportation group and will work with a broad variety of transportation clients and projects throughout AECOM's West Region.Job ResponsibilitiesWork collaboratively with colleagues throughout AECOM's West Region on rail/transit infrastructure projects for multiple state, local and federal government agenciesSenior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for the teamProvides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertiseDevelops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality, cost‑effective work by othersParticipates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverablesDevelops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projectsUses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E packagePerforms quality control review of design calculations or drawingsPrepares technical specification sectionsProvides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirementsDirectly manages junior level staffMinimum QualificationsBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering6+ years of experience designing railroads, highways, roadways for transportation projectsPreferred QualificationsOregon Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain license within six monthsExperience using InRoads and/or Civil 3D design software packages for the conceptual and detailed design of horizontal and vertical alignments, sections, and 3D modeling on rail and/or highway projectsExperience with designs and plans production for transportation/civil infrastructure projects including calculationsPrior experience in similar rolesAbility to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problemsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAdditional InformationSponsorship is not offered for this position now or in the future.Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
