Your OpportunityAs a Senior Transportation Engineer, you will leverage your experience with New Mexico highway and roadway projects to assist in our growing New Mexico practice and manage the design and delivery of various projects from conceptual planning, through design, construction, and completion.Your Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development of project plans and drawings for various projects including urban and rural roadways, highways, rail, transit, trails, and intersectionsPrepare complex engineering designs and plans for urban and rural roadways and highwaysDevelop budgets and monitor work of assigned team to ensure budgets and schedules are metCoordinate with Project Managers, project team and clientsResponsible for design, review and sealing of assigned projectsSupervise the work of engineers and CAD assignedLead and develop junior staffYour Capabilities and CredentialsThorough understanding of codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictionsAbility to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovationProficient in MicroStation and OpenRoads 3D modeling tools, and other relevant design softwareStrong knowledge of the Department of Transportation's legal requirements, design/planning procedures, and PSE plan production in relevant jurisdictionsAbility to participate and collaborate in project team setting, engage in creative and critical thought, and effectively communicate ideas, design issues and solutions to othersAbility to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and scheduleEffective communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft (MS) Office SuiteEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related fieldLicensed Professional Engineer required. Existing New Mexico PE or ability to obtain a New Mexico PE within six months of hire requiredMinimum of 10 years highway/roadway design experienceYou will work in an open-concept office setting.
