As part of HDR's Transportation Business Group, you'll help shape the systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably. Your work will directly support economic vitality, public safety, and quality of life through the design of highways, bridges, transit and other transportation infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesServe in the lead technical role in the detailed development of urban roadway design projectsPerform quality assurance checks on major transportation projects on interstate and state highway systemsServe as a technical expert with recognized authority in a specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexityAssume some project management duties and interact with clients as neededSupervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as neededManage day-to-day communication with the client, support, advise, and train junior engineers and technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with subconsultants, keep the project on schedule and within budget, and keep the client satisfiedPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsMasters of Science Degree in Civil EngineeringMinimum of 15 years design experienceExperience designing urban arterials, rural highways, intersections, freeways, and/or multi-level interchanges.Oklahoma DOT Schematic and/or PS&E project experienceOklahoma municipality schematic and/or PS&E project experienceExperience with MicroStation, InRoads, Microsoft Office applicationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degreeMinimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering designProfessional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license)Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills, and ability to work with various teamsProject management skills desirableExperience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout, and CAD base alignment plansMust have coordinated survey, grading, drainage and utilities, and layout of various site items is a plusAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a mustLocationsPrimary Location: United States-Oklahoma-Oklahoma CityOther Locations: United States-Oklahoma-TulsaSchedule and Employment StatusSchedule: Full‑timeEmployee Status: RegularJob PostingMar 20, 2026Equal Employment Opportunity StatementAt HDR, we are committed to the principles of employment equity.
