    Description

    Responsibilities Participate in project proposals, client interview preparation, and stakeholder presentations; may attend client interviewsHelp determine the project team and staffing requirements for a given assignment or project taskCoordinate directly with various internal and external disciplines/departments to ensure design process is complete and comprehensiveContribute to and supervise team members in the design concepts, studies, design options, and establish design criteriaPerform complex analyses and design calculations, document design procedures, and assure design complies with applicable codes and standardsAssist in leading the preparation of design documents including schematics, design details, calculations, specifications, and utility coordinationCoordinate the production of project deliverables including plans, specifications, reports, cost estimates, and commissioning documentsWork with project managers to assure that project schedule, budget and design are consistent with project criteriaCoordinate and complete permit requirementsAssist in supervising construction administration activities including resolving construction related issues, disputes, and disagreementsSupervise the close-out documentation process with contractors, clients, and agencies and identify lessons learned for internal training purposesAssist in creating and enforcing the application of TERRA standards and guidelinesContribute to authoring marketing materialsDevelop and maintain trusted relationships with team members, multidisciplinary team members, vendors, and authorities having jurisdictionMentor, train, and provide oversight to staff membersParticipate in the recruitment, interviewing, and candidate selection processPerform other duties as requiredEducation and Experience B.S. in civil engineering or related field (ABET/EAC-accredited program)8+ years of applicable engineering experiencePE preferredPTOE Certification preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrates ability to successfully engage with professionals in a multi-disciplinary environment; communicates effectively and builds relationships and trust internally and externallyExercises sound engineering judgmentStrong ability to convey information through effective and timely verbal and written communicationHigh level of proficiency with computer-aided design software and other software packages typically associated with engineering requiredStrong proficiency in general documentation software such as Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam, PowerPoint, etc.Demonstrates effective project management skills, effectively leveraging experience and skills to ensure projects are completed on time and on budgetAdvanced public speaking, presentation, and leadership skillsDemonstrates understanding of industry and construction practices, methodologies, and best engineering practices and leverages that understanding to lead engineering efforts through all project stagesAble to conduct site visits as needed, may require a valid driver\'s licenseEffectively maintains office and field health & safety requirements and protocolsMaintains a work schedule conducive to team collaboration and project-specific requirementsPhysical Requirements Involves sitting a considerable amount of the time, but requires the ability to conduct field/site visits to inspect workMay exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to move objectsOccasionally lifts and carries up to 25 poundsConsiderable time is spent at a workstation using a computer and using various forms of communication (telephone, email, messaging, etc.)Field work includes exposure to outside weather conditions and various environmental conditions depending on the sitePhysical activities include walking and occasional stooping and crouchingThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties and/or responsibilities required of the employee for this position.
