Senior Transportation/Roadway EngineerArdurra (Cannon & Cannon, Inc.) is seeking a Senior Transportation/Roadway Engineer in its Knoxville, TN office to design roadway and sidewalk/greenway projects for local transportation and DOT initiatives.Primary Function: Deliver a variety of transportation‑related design projects, develop contract plans, specifications, and estimates for construction, and support the entire project design delivery process.Primary DutiesPerform process design of multi‑disciplinary transportation engineering projects, including evaluating alternatives, conducting engineering studies, design calculations, and performing preliminary and detailed design.Provide technical expertise to ensure compliance with design intent, project scope, and state and federal design criteria and standards.Develop contract plans and prepare technical specifications and cost estimates.Assist with project execution and delivery, including scope, budget, and schedule development.Coordinate the day‑to‑day activities of engineers, designers, and technicians assigned to specific projects.Conduct quality control on engineering work products such as design calculations, models, drawings, reports, specifications, and estimates.Assist with marketing and business development efforts.Effectively communicate and coordinate with internal and external partners and stakeholders, including clients, discipline leads, subconsultants, regulatory agencies, and utility companies.Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering or related field.Professional Engineer (PE) license.10+ years of post‑licensure engineering experience in transportation/roadway design.Proficiency in MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer, with ability to train and supervise technical work.Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).Experience preparing final design plans, specifications, and estimates.Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.Strong analytical problem‑solving, time‑management and organizational skills.Why Ardurra?Ardurra offers competitive compensation and rich benefits programs within a family‑like, people‑centric culture.
