Job Description
- Support senior attorneys on complex estate, gift, and GST tax planning matters.
- Review and revise sophisticated estate planning and trust documents.
- Coordinate transactions involving trusts, LLCs, partnerships, gifts, sales, assignments, and ownership transfers.
- Prepare and maintain asset schedules, ownership charts, planning summaries, transaction checklists, and implementation trackers.
- Track trust funding, valuations, signatures, ownership transfers, and other implementation steps.
- Coordinate with clients, accountants, financial advisors, valuation professionals, and other outside advisors.
- Review documents and financial information for consistency with the intended planning structure.
- Identify missing information, inconsistencies, and incomplete planning steps for attorney review.
- Assist with precedent documents, checklists, planning systems, and internal processes.
- Use modern legal technology and AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency, organization, and quality.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Trusts & Estates or Estate Planning paralegal experience.
- Advanced estate and gift tax planning experience.
- Experience with irrevocable trusts and sophisticated wealth-transfer planning.
- Familiarity with federal estate, gift, and GST tax concepts.
- Strong document review and revision skills.
- Experience with closely held businesses, LLCs, partnerships, ownership transfers, or similar planning structures.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience with SLATs, grantor and non-grantor trusts, gift tax returns, valuations, or high-net-worth families is strongly preferred.
