Senior UI/UX Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer with 5–8 years of experience to join our Product team. This role will own the end-to-end user experience design process across our suite of screening and compliance products, from user research and discovery through high-fidelity design and implementation support.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong visual design skills, a passion for solving complex user problems, and experience collaborating closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver intuitive, accessible, and modern digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

User Experience & Product Design

• Lead UX discovery activities, including user research, journey mapping, and usability testing.
• Identify user needs, pain points, and opportunities through qualitative and quantitative research.
• Create user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile applications.
• Translate business requirements and user insights into intuitive user experiences.
• Validate design concepts through testing, iteration, and stakeholder feedback.

Design Systems & Visual Design

• Contribute to and maintain a scalable, reusable design system.
• Establish and promote design standards, patterns, and best practices.
• Ensure consistency across products through the use of design components, tokens, and shared assets.
• Deliver polished visual designs with strong attention to usability, accessibility, and detail.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure accurate, accessible, and high-quality implementation of designs.
• Present design concepts, recommendations, and rationale to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Advocate for user-centered design principles across the organization.

Agile Execution

• Operate within an Agile/Kanban framework to manage and prioritize work effectively.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and team ceremonies.
• Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria when appropriate.
• Utilize Jira to manage work, track progress, and maintain visibility across projects.

Required Qualifications

• 5–8 years of UI/UX design experience within a product-focused environment.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design ownership across web and/or mobile applications.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including:
  • Components
  • Auto Layout
  • Design tokens
  • Interactive prototyping
• Experience collaborating within modern technology environments and working alongside front-end development teams.
• Working knowledge of front-end technologies, including:
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Vue.js (or similar JavaScript frameworks)
• Experience using Jira for project, workflow, and task management.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Kanban methodologies.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing enterprise SaaS or B2B software platforms.
• Experience conducting end-to-end user research, including:
  • User interviews
  • Surveys
  • Usability testing
  • A/B testing
• Experience designing data-intensive, regulated, or compliance-focused products.
• Experience building, scaling, or governing a design system.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices, including WCAG 2.1.
• Experience within HR technology, compliance, screening, or enterprise software environments.
