Eligible candidates should review the examination bulletin to learn how to apply.Virtual interviews via web portals or phone may be offered as deemed appropriate and feasible by the hiring manager – standard in-person interviews will still be offered if conditions permit.ResponsibilitiesUnder general direction of the Project and Program Supervisor, advise and assist high‑level decision‑makers such as Commissioners, Judges, and Energy Division management on electric general rate case proceedings.Act as a team leader and project coordinator of general rate cases.Analyze utility general rate case and cost of capital applications, and evaluate utility requests to securitize costs through bonds and non‑bypassable fixed recovery charges, and other utility financing matters.Make recommendations based on independent analysis of regulatory, policy, and technical issues; review utility costs and trends related to electric utility operations.Review and recommend action on “advice letter” requests in compliance with prior Commission orders, review and provide feedback on proposed legislative bills, and oversee implementation of programs resulting from CPUC and legislative processes.Write and present reports, coordinate with other California organizations and agencies such as the California Energy Commission, the California Air Resources Board, and the California Independent System Operator, and respond to outside inquiries.Applicants will be evaluated using the STD 678 (application form) to determine qualifications for the advertised classification(s).
