    Description

We're seeking a Senior UX Designer to lead the design of AI-native business applications and end-to-end customer experiences. This role goes beyond feature ownership, you will define experience strategy, shape product direction, and drive bar-raising design quality across services and journeys.

As a Senior UX Designer, you will operate at both system and product levels, translating ambiguous problem spaces into clear, opinionated experience directions. You will partner with product, engineering, and applied science to define what we build and why, not just how it looks or behaves.

You will play a key role in evolving how we design for AI teammates, moving from assistive interfaces to proactive, context-aware, and trustworthy systems. This includes defining new interaction paradigms, trust models, and human-AI collaboration patterns.

We are looking for designers who are not only thinkers but builders, comfortable leveraging AI-accelerated workflows, rapid prototyping, and vibe coding to bring ideas to life quickly and influence decisions through tangible artifacts.

This is an opportunity to lead through design, shape long-term vision, and raise the quality bar for the next generation of AI-powered solutions.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Define and drive end-to-end UX strategy across complex product areas and multi-service journeys, translating ambiguous problems into clear, opinionated experience directions and articulating the core customer value.
    • Lead the design of AI-native experiences, including proactive, context-aware AI teammates, while establishing scalable interaction models for trust, transparency, and human-AI collaboration.
    • Apply system-level thinking to create cohesive experiences across products and touchpoints, and drive reusable design patterns, frameworks, and quality standards that raise the UX bar.
    • Leverage AI-accelerated workflows, rapid prototyping, and vibe coding to explore ideas, validate concepts, and influence product direction through tangible artifacts.
    • Partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, and science to shape product strategy and roadmap, and influence senior stakeholders through strong storytelling and customer-backed insights.
    • Drive customer understanding and validation through research, experimentation, and data, while mentoring other designers and elevating overall design quality and culture.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
