Senior VDC Manager – Houston Texas DivisionAustin Commercial is currently seeking a Senior VDC Manager for our Houston Texas Division.ResponsibilitiesDevelops BIM/VDC service standard training and supports national adoptionManages BIM/VDC services on multiple projectsTrains project staff on current BIM/VDC processes and servicesSpends time at national jobsites implementing BIM/VDC processesMarkets BIM/VDC services internally and externallyPresents BIM/VDC projects and services at industry related conferences and forumsStays current on what is being marketed/executed by our competition nationallyCreates project specific BIM Project Execution Plans and Templates (BEPs)Identifies BIM/VDC requirements in technical specificationsDevelops BIM/VDC contract language and consultant agreements templates for national adoptionCreates BIM/VDC contract language for bidding and buyout; creates and executes BIM/VDC consultant agreementsCreates a models including site logistics, structure, interior/exterior architecture, and MEP/FP systems as neededManages model authoring, revisions, versioning, exchange, validation, and as-builtsCreates custom model components and familiesManages model authoring service providers and sub-trades nationallySupports the development of 4D service standards for national adoptionCreates and manages 4D project schedules on multiple projectsSupports the development of coordination service standards for national adoptionLeads and/or Manages BIM/VDC coordination effort on multiple projectsTrains and supports BIM/VDC coordination teams on multiple projectsManages the production of dimensioned drawings for field use on multiple projectsManages BIM/VDC layout and assists in field as-built verification on multiple projectsManages and coordinates model turnover on multiple projectsSupports the development of 5D service standards for national adoptionManages the validation of models for model based quantity takeoffCreates model based quantity surveys for estimate verificationModels components as needed for accurate quantity takeoffDevelops, implements, and manages an FM strategy based on the Owner's needs and future goalsTrains Owner's FM staff on implementation of FM software and workflows, providing support to Owner's FM staff after project completionRequirementsBS/BA degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or ArchitectureMinimum 10 years of project management experience - Project Architect, Project Manager or equivalent, demonstrating proven leadership qualities in previous project rolesAdvanced knowledge of construction related BIM/VDC processes and project delivery methods and their impact on BIM/VDC services (CMR, DBB, IPD, etc.)Advanced knowledge of BIM/VDC software, service implementation, and managementProven leadership qualities from previous project roles and strong communication and public speaking skillsAdvanced understanding of construction terminology and processes; construction materials and systems; and drawings and specificationsAdvanced understanding of planning and scheduling concepts and advanced understanding of construction work sequencingAdvanced understanding of quality control principlesApplicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
