    Description

Lead the transformation of a global supply organization supporting a rapidly expanding portfolio of innovative specialty medicines.

Our client is a global biopharmaceutical company with a growing commercial business and an advancing development portfolio. As the organization enters its next phase of growth—expanding its commercial presence, advancing its pipeline, and increasing operational scale—it is seeking a Senior Vice President, Global Supply Chain & Operations to lead the continued evolution of its end-to-end global supply organization. Reporting to the company's senior Technical Operations leadership, this executive will be responsible for building an integrated global operating model that seamlessly supports both development and commercial operations.

This is a highly visible enterprise leadership opportunity—not a traditional functional supply chain role. You will integrate global planning, supply chain, manufacturing network strategy, and regional execution into one cohesive operating model while building the infrastructure necessary to support sustained global growth. Success will be measured by your ability to translate long-term strategy into operational excellence, develop a world-class leadership team, and deliver a resilient, scalable global supply network.

    Strategy, Network & Transformation

    • Develop and execute the enterprise-wide global supply chain strategy, aligning network design, capacity planning, and manufacturing strategy with commercial growth and pipeline progression.
    • Design and continuously optimize an integrated global operating model that balances enterprise consistency with regional flexibility.
    • Drive the evolution toward true end-to-end ownership across the global supply organization.
    • Establish the long-term manufacturing and distribution network strategy, including external manufacturing, strategic partnerships, and outsourcing models.
    • Advance planning capabilities, digital tools, and supply chain analytics to enable faster, more transparent, and data-driven decision making.

    Organization & Leadership

    • Lead a global organization encompassing planning, supply chain systems, product lifecycle management, logistics, distribution, and regional commercial supply leadership.
    • Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing executive leadership team capable of supporting continued global expansion.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across a complex, matrixed organization.
    • Establish scalable governance, standardized processes, and center-of-excellence capabilities that support long-term organizational growth.

    Supply Chain Execution

    • Provide executive oversight for S&OP, demand planning, forecasting, inventory strategy, and supply-demand balancing across the global portfolio.
    • Ensure robust logistics, distribution, and warehousing capabilities that scale with expanding global operations.
    • Oversee product launch readiness, lifecycle planning, and seamless supply continuity throughout the product lifecycle.
    • Strengthen enterprise risk management, business continuity planning, and supply chain resilience across the global network.

    Enterprise Partnership

    • Define effective operating interfaces between global and regional supply organizations while maintaining consistent governance and execution.
    • Empower regional leadership teams to execute within a unified global framework.
    • Partner closely with Commercial, Technical Operations, CMC, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and external manufacturing partners to ensure enterprise alignment.
    • Build trusted relationships across the executive leadership team and serve as a key strategic advisor on supply chain and operational matters.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Advanced degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline.
    • 15+ years of progressive executive leadership experience in global supply chain and/or technical operations within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
    • Demonstrated success leading complex global supply organizations within highly matrixed environments.
    • Experience supporting commercial products and global product launches.
    • Strong understanding of supply planning, manufacturing strategy, and global product lifecycle management.
    • Proven ability to build, develop, and scale high-performing global organizations.
    • Deep expertise in S&OP, global logistics, external manufacturing, network strategy, and operational excellence.
    • Experience managing strategic CMO relationships and complex international distribution networks.

    Preferred

    • Experience supporting biologics, sterile injectables, or other complex pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
    • Experience leading significant organizational transformation within a global supply chain function.
    • Exposure to major capital investment initiatives alongside day-to-day operational leadership.

    Leadership Capabilities

    • Translates strategic vision into disciplined execution.
    • Brings an enterprise-wide perspective and strong business acumen.
    • Excels in complex global and cross-functional environments.
    • Comfortable leading both transformational initiatives and operational execution.
    • Balances enterprise consistency with regional flexibility.
    • Builds credibility, trust, and alignment across executive leadership teams.
    • Decisive, analytical, and highly data-driven with exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
