Job Description:
Arizona PBS is seeking a highly creative, technically skilled, and collaborative Senior Videographer/Editor to help produce compelling visual stories that inform, educate, and inspire audiences across broadcast, digital, streaming, and social media platforms.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished visual storyteller who thrives in every phase of production-from concept development and field production to post-production and final delivery. This individual will work independently and alongside producers, reporters, editors, production staff, and leadership to create high-quality content ranging from short-form digital videos to long-form documentaries, public affairs programming, promotional campaigns, and live productions.
Successful candidates possess strong editorial judgment, exceptional cinematography skills, advanced editing expertise, and a passion for storytelling that serves Arizona's communities. They are equally comfortable leading productions in the field, operating cameras in the studio, editing complex projects, and mentoring emerging production talent.
This position requires a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and travel throughout Arizona and beyond as production needs require.

Essential Duties:
Video Production & Storytelling
Produce compelling visual content from concept through final delivery for broadcast, digital, streaming, and social media platforms.
Collaborate with producers, reporters, directors, and creative staff to develop visual approaches that enhance storytelling.
Operate professional broadcast cameras for studio, field, live, and multi-camera productions.
Capture high-quality interviews, b-roll, natural sound, and event coverage while making creative decisions regarding composition, lighting, camera movement, and audio.
Scout production locations and evaluate logistical and technical requirements.
Post-Production
Edit long-form and short-form content, including documentaries, public affairs programs, promotional campaigns, episodic series, digital features, and social media content.
Perform advanced color correction and grading, audio mixing, sound design, motion graphics integration, and basic visual effects.
Deliver polished content that meets Arizona PBS quality standards and technical specifications.
Export and optimize media for broadcast, web, streaming, and social media distribution.
Maintain organized project files and media asset management throughout production.
Production Operations
Test, configure, and maintain cameras, lenses, lighting, audio, and support equipment for studio and field productions.
Monitor technical quality throughout all phases of production.
Coordinate production crews during shoots and ensure efficient workflows on location and in studio environments.
Recommend equipment purchases and evaluate emerging production technologies.
Maintain security, organization, and operational readiness of production equipment.
Leadership & Collaboration
Serve as a creative partner with producers and directors throughout the production process.
Help establish visual style, production quality, and storytelling standards across projects.
Mentor and train videographers, production assistants, interns, and student workers.
Collaborate across departments to support Arizona PBS initiatives and special projects.
Contribute creative ideas that strengthen storytelling and audience engagement across multiple platforms.
Desired Qualifications
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Professional experience producing broadcast-quality video content.
Advanced skills at audio mixing, video coloring, motion graphics design, VFX, sound design
Experience with live productions operations and equipment
Advanced proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Creative Cloud, and related post-production software.
Experience operating professional broadcast cinema cameras, DSLR/mirrorless camera systems, and a wide range of lenses.
Strong understanding of cinematography, lighting, composition, camera movement, and visual storytelling.
Experience recording high-quality field and studio audio using professional microphones and recording equipment.
Knowledge of color correction, color grading, sound mixing, motion graphics, and media delivery workflows.
Familiarity with live and multi-camera production environments.
Knowledge of field production techniques and broadcast production standards.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a creative team.
Experience mentoring student employees or junior production staff.
Familiarity with PBS, public media, or mission-driven storytelling.
Knowledge of FCC television broadcasting regulations.
Experience as a visual storyteller, field producer, reporter, interviewer, or documentary filmmaker is highly desirable.
Drone pilot experience and the ability to be licensed as a pilot preferred.

Working Environment:
Work is performed in a combination of standard office and field environments. Office work includes prolonged periods of sitting and the use of a desktop or laptop computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone, copier, and other standard office equipment. The position also requires regular work outdoors, including in Arizona's high-temperature summer conditions, for extended periods.
Responsibilities include transporting, setting up, and operating professional camera equipment and related gear. The position requires the ability to safely lift, carry, and hold camera equipment and accessories for extended periods while standing, walking, or working in outdoor environments. Employees must be able to perform assigned duties in varying weather conditions and terrain while maintaining attention to safety and operational requirements.
