    Description

    RESPEC, a nationally recognized engineering consulting company, is seeking an individual to provide engineering services at our office in Missoula, Montana. This position requires demonstrated working knowledge of engineering principles and business practices to successfully plan and execute a diverse range of water resource projects. The focus of this position will be involvement with all types of planning, design, and specialty services related to the civil and water resources engineering field.Job DescriptionComplete life cycle of projects—from proposal development through successful project execution—while staying on schedule and within budget under limited supervisionEngineering consulting, specifically related to water resources including stormwater management, drainage design, flood control, and irrigation systemsConduct field inspections to assess site conditions and collect relevant dataManage competing priorities to execute project tasks within budget and on schedule with minimal supervisionPrepare high-quality technical presentations and reports to communicate complex technical concepts and practical engineering recommendations for a variety of audiencesDevelopment of construction plans, profiles, specifications and estimates for transportation and water resources projects including development of terrain, grading and other design componentsContinued professional development and contribution to industry knowledge through engaged participation in relevant organizationsProvide technical guidance and construction administration for a variety of water resources projectWe do not accept unsolicited resumes from third-party recruiters.QualificationsAt a minimum, the successful candidate must have the following qualifications:Bachelor of science degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related engineering fieldEngineer-In-Training Certificate or ability to attain within six monthsPractical application of various H&H software, including HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and XPSWMMStrong passion for a civil engineering careerExperience in developing and preparing drainage reports, Letters of Map Revision for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and stormwater designExperience with civil design and site grading/layoutExperience with AutoCAD and GISAdditional preferred qualifications include the following:Strong interpersonal skillsTechnical communication skills (both written and oral)Must be fluent in EnglishDemonstrated ability to apply engineering principles to real-world applicationsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareProficient or working knowledge with HEC-HMS, SWMM, TR-55, HSPF, HEC-RAS, HY-8, SWMM, SMS/SRH-2D, MicroStation, AutoCAD/Civil3D, ArcGIS, OpenRoads, and HydroCADAbility to prioritize work demands to meet deadlines while exercising judgment and working independentlyAdditional InformationCompensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise.
