EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors Degree

Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.

PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY:

Provide leadership in the design, development, implementation and support of Web Applications on a District wide level. Perform duties as Senior Web Applications Developer, a Design Specialist and also perform functions of a Web Master. Project leadership responsibilities for multi-faceted integrated database and Web Applications.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develops applications in C# while utilizing a broad set of technology like BLAZOR, JavaScript, AJAX, database/schema design, XML, XSLT, IIS, SQL Reporting Services and Windows Forms using the Visual Studio development environment.

  2. Develops, debugs and tunes TSQL queries and stored procedures using SQL Server Management Studio.

  3. Mentors other developer's standards and practices in .NET and SQL Server.

  4. Disseminates and codifies business requirements into visually appealing, efficient, easy to use web based applications.

  5. Creates policies and procedures for the deployment, maintenance and utilization of Web/Mobile Applications.

  6. Identifies hardware/software resources for the deployment, maintenance and utilization of Web/Mobile Applications.

  7. Researches opportunities to publish and expand Web/Mobile applications.

  8. Sets up, configures and secures web sites and Web Applications.

  9. Sets up and implements Web-based SSL security on Web sites, directories and pages.

  10. Drafts design documents for new software applications.

  11. Develops, assesses and communicates Web/ Mobile Applications usage and security policies and standards.

  12. Assists in the planning of overall District strategy regarding web development.

  13. Sets up meetings with users and drafts requirements for new software systems.

  14. Schedules timelines and identifies deliverables.

  15. Assures web server and site technical performance.

  16. Maintains existing web applications in C#, VB.NET or ASP.

  17. Monitors IIS server error log and monitors statistical usage.

  18. Provides training and assistance to other developers.

  19. Assists in the planning of overall District strategy regarding web development.

  20. Works with clients to identify the wants/requirements of a project and uses those wants/requirements to develop a project plan that delivers a reasonable solution for the client.

  21. Works with a high degree of independence to develop web/mobile based applications.

  22. Maintains contact with current research and practice.

  23. Works with management in disseminating ideas and information to other professionals.

  24. Provides key technical resources for other Senior Staff, providing advice, training and technical support for various projects.

  25. Works closely with technical staff on the IT team in evaluating current systems and making decisions on future systems.

  26. Delegates programming tasks and follows up to make sure they are completed.

  27. Works with highly confidential information and must maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and information security.

  28. Reports to work on time every day.

  29. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced technical skills, including knowledge of multiple programming languages
  • Expected to learn these technologies very quickly and resolve any problems in integrating new technologies with NEISD systems
  • Ability to understand/troubleshoot hardware as well as software issues relating to server performance and reliability
  • Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
