Contract Details

About the Opportunity

Join a small, collaborative development team supporting 24x7 traffic management center operations for a public-sector environment. You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, partnering closely with a project manager, senior technical peers, and operations stakeholders to gather requirements, build features, test thoroughly, and deliver reliable solutions.

This role blends hands-on coding with analysis and problem solving. You will integrate with real-time systems and devices, ensure application stability and performance, and help the team continuously improve documentation and user training materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications supporting real-time operational needs.
• Build and consume REST APIs; work with JSON, AJAX, and WebSockets for real-time data flows.
• Collaborate with business operations on requirements, testing, and delivery.
• Participate in rotating technical on-call to support 24x7 operations.
• Create clear documentation and contribute to user training as needed.
• Work across the full SDLC with internal technical teams and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of application design and development experience.
• 3+ years with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• 3+ years with JSON, AJAX, REST APIs, and WebSockets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to work hybrid in Smyrna, DE and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
• Ability to pass required security/background screening.

Preferred Qualifications

• TypeScript and Angular (including Signals/Angular Material) 2+ years.
• Node.js and NestJS 2+ years.
• Java (JDK) 5+ years.
• RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) 3+ years; MongoDB 2+ years.
• Build/CI tools: NPM and TeamCity 3+ years.
• Tools: IntelliJ IDEA, WebStorm, Postman 3+ years.
• GCP administration and storage experience; YouTrack familiarity.
