Senior Wind Turbine Technician
Full-Time | Travel-Based | $23-35/hour

Position Overview


We are seeking an experienced Senior Wind Turbine Technician to perform advanced assembly, service, repair, and maintenance of wind turbine generators (WTGs) and related infrastructure.


This role requires strong expertise in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment while supporting team coordination and maintaining high safety standards. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, adaptable, and comfortable working in physically demanding environments at significant heights.


Core Responsibilities



  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, retrofitting, and maintenance of wind turbine generators and associated systems.

  • Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components.

  • Coordinate daily tasks with crew members while working independently with minimal supervision.

  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, company, and customer safety standards.

  • Complete work orders, service reports, and project documentation accurately.

  • Support team development through communication, problem-solving, and cross-training initiatives.

  • Travel to various project sites for extended assignments.

  • Maintain organized tools, equipment, and workspaces.

  • Ensure project deadlines and performance standards are consistently achieved.


Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum:

    • 36 months of wind turbine technical/mechanical experience

    • 24 months of electrical and mechanical experience



  • Strong troubleshooting skills in:

    • Electrical systems

    • Mechanical systems

    • Hydraulic systems



  • Ability to:

    • Work at heights up to 300 feet

    • Climb ladders and structures regularly

    • Lift and manipulate up to 100 pounds



  • Valid driver’s license preferred.

  • Ability to pass drug screening and maintain compliance.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying and adverse weather conditions.

  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and technical maintenance procedures.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Wind industry certifications or specialized turbine training.

  • Leadership experience mentoring or coordinating crews.

  • Strong documentation and service reporting skills.

  • Commitment to safety, efficiency, and continuous technical improvement.
