Overview:
Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Windows Server Administrator to support a major national laboratory.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier 3 support for Windows Server and SharePoint environments, troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
- Perform administration, operations, and maintenance (O&M) activities to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of enterprise systems.
- Plan and execute SharePoint and Windows Server patching, upgrades, and system enhancements in accordance with operational and security requirements.
- Monitor system health and proactively identify, investigate, and resolve infrastructure issues to minimize service disruptions.
- Participate in scheduled after-hours maintenance activities, including patch deployments, upgrades, and critical support efforts.
Qualifications:
- BS in relevant discipline plus minimum 2 years or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
- Must have an Active DOE Security Clearance
- Must be US Citizen
Required Skills:
Experience managing, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise Windows Server environments.
Knowledge of deploying security patches and system updates to maintain compliance and stability.
Proficiency using PowerShell to automate administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms such as ServiceNow for incident, service request, problem, and change management activities.
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly document technical information and effectively collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and technical teams.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, support requests, and project activities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
Desired Skills:
Experience administering and supporting SharePoint environments, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of managing enterprise physical and virtual server infrastructure in a highly available environment.
Familiarity with SQL Server databases and IIS administration to support SharePoint and related applications.
