ABOUT THE ROLE

Were looking for someone to own Runways SEO and AEO strategy, end to end. You'll build out our library of SEO content at scale, run experiments to sharpen whats working, own technical SEO health and report on what's working to drive organic growth.

This is a hybrid strategy-and-execution role. You wont just hand off a keyword list and wait. Youll be optimizing a piece of content one day and making a technical case to our development team the next.

WHAT YOULL DO

• Own Runways SEO and AEO strategy: Keyword cluster architecture (pillar-and-spoke), competitive SERP and content-gap analysis, understanding what stage of the buying journey a searcher is in so content matches what they actually need, as well as champion Runways presence in AI-generated answers.

• Build out Runways library of SEO content: Briefs, landing pages, articles and more, identifying and scoping high-opportunity content, without sacrificing quality or brand voice

• Design and run experiments on content formats, internal linking and page structure and use the results to sharpen the strategy

• Own technical SEO health: Indexing, sitemaps, structured data and schema markup, ongoing site monitoring and recommend site structure and information architecture changes (page templates, internal linking, URL structure) that improve crawlability and rankings

• Own measurement and reporting for organic growth: Track keyword rankings, organic traffic and AI citation trends against clear targets, and go beyond traffic volume to measure whether that traffic actually converts into product signups

WHAT YOULL NEED

• 4+ years in SEO, with experience contributing to overall strategy

• Experience building or scaling an SEO function from a small base, moving fluidly between strategic and hands-on work

• Experience collaborating across teams, including managing freelancers and partnering with product, marketing and design teams

• Proficiency with GA4 and Google Search Console, plus keyword/competitive research tools like SEMrush or Ahrefs

• Experience in AEO / AI-search visibility, with the ability to bake it into a broader SEO strategy

• Experience using Profound, AirOps, or similar AEO tool is a plus

• Experience at an AI, product-led or consumer-facing tech company is a plus, where SEO has to coexist with a fast-moving roadmap

Lastly, the provided range is the expected salary for candidates in the U.S. Outside of those regions, there may be a change in the range, which again, will be communicated to candidates.
