About Care.com

Care.com is a consumer tech company with heart. We're on a mission to solve a human challenge we all face: finding great care for the ones we love. We're moms and dads and pet parents. We have parents and grandparents, so we understand that everyone, at some point in their lives, could use a helping hand. Our culture and our products reflect that.

Here, entrepreneurs, self-starters, team players, and big thinkers unite behind a common cause. Here, we're applying data analytics, AI, and the latest technologies to solve universal problems and connect people in new ways. If you like having autonomy, if you thrive on collaboration and building new things, and if you're all about using your talent for good, Care.com is the place for you.

Position Overview:

We're looking for a Manager of SEO & GEO who is equally comfortable building a SEO strategy in a Google Doc and shipping a structured data fix in collaboration with an engineer. You will own Care.com's organic search presence end-to-end - from identifying opportunities to seeing them through to production, and be a key voice in how AI-driven search and answer engines shape our future growth.

This is not a strategy-only role. We expect you to be hands-on keyboard, deeply analytical, and execution-focused.

What You'll Do:

  • Organic Growth: Build and execute the SEO roadmap across technical, content, and off-page. Own the numbers: traffic, rankings, conversions. No handoffs, no excuses.
  • AI-Optimized Search (AIO): Define and drive Care.com's strategy for visibility in AI-generated results - Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and whatever comes next. Optimize entity coverage, content structure, and schema to ensure we're the answer, not just a result.
  • Technical SEO: Run audits, triage issues, and ship fixes. Partner with engineering from requirements through QA - you write the tickets, you join the sprints, you own the outcome. SEO is built into the product lifecycle, not bolted on afterward.
  • Content & On-Page: Own the full cycle from keyword brief to published page. Build scalable frameworks for programmatic SEO across Care.com's care categories. Every page should earn its index.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Be the SEO authority for Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Data. Align with Paid on SERP strategy. Build dashboards that make organic performance impossible to ignore.

Who You Are:

Experience

  • 4+ years of SEO experience
  • Proven track record of driving significant organic traffic and revenue growth at scale
  • Direct experience working within or alongside engineering/product teams in an agile environment
  • Demonstrated experience with AI search optimization (AIO, LLM-based search, featured snippets, entity optimization)

Technical Skills

  • Expert-level proficiency with SEO tools: Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, Botify, or similar
  • Comfortable reading and writing HTML, CSS basics, and structured data (JSON-LD/Schema.org)
  • Experience with log file analysis, JavaScript SEO challenges, and large-scale site architecture
  • Proficiency with analytics platforms (GA4, Looker, Tableau, or similar)

Soft Skills & Mindset

  • A bias for action - you move fast, test, learn, and iterate
  • Strong communicator who can translate complex SEO concepts for non-technical stakeholders and write airtight engineering tickets
  • Project management chops - you can manage multiple initiatives simultaneously without dropping the ball
  • Entrepreneurial ownership mentality: you treat the organic channel like it's yours to build
  • 1-2 years in a lead or manager-level role are a nice to have, you will be cross collaborating heavily with product and engineering teams

About the Company

C

Care.com, Inc.

Care is a global need without geographic or demographic boundaries. At some point, every person and every family will have care needs, be it for children, seniors, pets or even homes. Our mission is to improve the lives of families and caregivers by helping them connect in a reliable and easy way. Our solutions help families make informed decisions in one of the most important and highly considered aspects of their family life: finding and managing quality care for their loved ones. In providing families a comprehensive marketplace for care, we are also building the largest global destination for quality caregivers to find fulfilling employment and career opportunities. We strive to help our members - families and caregivers - pursue their passions and fulfill the basic human need of caring for each other.

Founder and CEO Sheila Lirio Marcelo wanted to transform the way families and businesses around the world address their care needs. Care.com launched in the U.S. in 2007 and today, we are the world's largest online marketplace for finding and managing family care, with more than 30.8 million members, spanning over 20 countries.

Care.com's premise is simple: Our consumer matching solutions allow families to search for, qualify, vet, connect with, and ultimately select caregivers in a low-cost, reliable and easy way. Our platform also provides caregivers with solutions to create personal profiles, describe their unique skills and experience, and otherwise differentiate themselves in a highly fragmented marketplace.

We understand that care is an exceptionally personal matter and impacts the most important aspect of families' lives which is why we provide an array of services and resources to help families make safer and more informed hiring decisions. The Care.com Safety Center offers a comprehensive Safety Guide, which details numerous tools, resources and tips to assist families through the search and hiring process. Through third-parties, we also offer three tiers of background checks which vary in comprehensiveness.

Care.com's global footprint began to expand in 2012 when we launched in the UK and Canada, followed by the acquisition of Berlin-based Besser Betreut, the largest online care portal in Europe. In every territory in which we operate, the fundamental service remains the same but is tailored to meet the unique cultural needs of its membership.

As Care.com has grown, so has the scope of the products and services we offer. Our consumer payments solutions enable families to not only electronically pay a caregiver but also subscribe for tax preparation services through our Care.com HomePay product. We have also expanded our marketplace beyond the direct family-to-caregiver interaction. We currently serve employers by providing access to our platform to more than 600,000 employer-sponsored families, and we enable care-related businesses, such as daycare centers, nanny agencies and home care agencies, to market their services to our care-seeking families and recruit our caregiver members.
