Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistants or Family Nurse Practitioners to join our Urgent Care teams across Richmond, Virginia. These full-time and PRN positions offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
As part of our urgent care team, you will manage a wide range of non-emergent illnesses and injuries while working alongside a supportive staff that includes medical assistants and front-office team members. Our urgent care clinics are open 7 days per week, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., providing consistent scheduling and the opportunity to build strong connections with both patients and colleagues.
Urgent Care Scope of Services:
- Walk-in access to high-quality, non-emergency care
- Occupational medicine services, including workers compensation, return-to-work evaluations, and pre-employment physicals
- On-site diagnostic services, including laboratory testing, X-rays, and EKGs
- Seamless coordination with primary care and specialty providers as needed

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive care for walk-in patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of urgent care needs
- Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, I&D, and wound care as appropriate
- Collaborate with medical assistants and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent service
- Provide patient education and ensure clear communication around care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in Virginia.
- Active DEA license
- A minimum two years of active FNP/PA experience - Mandatory
- Urgent care, emergency medicine, or family medicine experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Must be comfortable seeing up to 60 patients as sole clinic provider during peak cold and flu seasons.
Work Hours
- Full-Time: Three 8a-8p shifts per week with rotating weekends.
- PRN: 24 hours per month - minimum
- Clinics are closed on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
