Position Summary:

The Server Assistant supports the front-of-house team by ensuring the dining room is clean, organized, and fully prepared to deliver exceptional service. This position assists servers with food delivery, table maintenance, beverage service, and resetting tables while anticipating guest needs and contributing to a seamless dining experience. The Server Assistant plays a key role in maintaining service efficiency and upholding the venue's hospitality standards.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $18.90 and is tip eligible.

About the Venue:

Oak View Group is proud to operate the food and beverage program at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. The hospitality operation features a diverse portfolio of dining experiences, including a multi-concept café, a modern luxury restaurant, a licensed Starbucks location, and a robust special events catering program. The team is dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences through outstanding food, service, and hospitality within one of the nation's premier cultural destinations.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to all guests.
  • Greet guests warmly and assist with seating or other guest needs as directed.
  • Refill water, beverages, bread, and other complimentary items.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
  • Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere throughout the dining experience.
  • Assist servers with delivering food and beverages accurately and efficiently.
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables according to established service standards.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked server stations.
  • Polish glassware, silverware, and service equipment as needed.
  • Monitor dining room cleanliness and assist with maintaining an inviting environment.
  • Support opening, closing, and side work duties.
  • Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
  • Deliver food while ensuring proper presentation and accuracy.
  • Assist with banquet service, private dining events, and special functions as assigned.
  • Help maintain adequate supplies of linens, dishes, flatware, glassware, and condiments throughout service.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible service standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Report safety hazards or guest concerns to management promptly.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a full-service restaurant, private club, hotel, performing arts center, or entertainment venue is a plus.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to assist wherever needed.
  • Ability to remain professional and composed during busy service periods.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy trays, dishes, and supplies.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
