    Position Summary:

    The Server is responsible for providing dining and table services to residents and guests in the community's dining rooms and designated areas in accordance with Grand Oaks standards. Responsible for proper dining set‑up, providing meal and dining services and cleaning of the dining rooms.

    Responsible for handling all foods in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards and complies with all federal, state, and local regulatory procedures regarding food service.

    Education:

    • High school diploma/GED preferred.
    • Previous experience in dining hospitality and/or full-service senior living preferred.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    General Dining Service Duties

    • Has knowledge of Daily and Always Available Menu items and can provide general description to the residents and guests.
    • Assists residents with menu selections and responds to pertinent questions about menu items.
    • Responsible for taking meal and beverage orders and serving requested items according to established guidelines.
    • Responds to the dining needs of the residents and guests while maintaining Grand Oaks hospitality and service standards.
    • Attends pre-meal briefing to gain knowledge of the meal and meal support activities.
    • Follows all local, state, and federal policies regarding food handling.
    • Maintains standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards.

    General Dining Room Duties

    • Maintains assigned tables and surrounding area in a complete state of cleanliness, appearance, and readiness.
    • Performs dining room set-up and re-set of tables in accordance with dining room procedures
    • Supports the dining room decorum and etiquette standards.
    • Performs and completes opening and closing checklist criteria.
    • Performs and completes side work duties as assigned.

    Resident Services

    • Reviews, reads, notates, and initializes the Daily Log to document and learn about pertinent information.
    • Reviews Resident Diet Book, confidential Diet Board/Indicator, Data Card, or Chart.
    • Maintains and protects the confidentiality of resident information at all times.

    Shift:

    Part-Time (29 hours)

    Salary Range: Minimum 18.40/hour - Maximum 28.91/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
