    Description

    Position Summary

The Integration Technician Lead is responsible for guiding the integration team on best practices for the entire integration process including the physical build-out, configuration, and quality control of the servers and workstations processed through PCSP's staging and integration facility. This is a hands-on, bench-level role requiring technical proficiency with enterprise server and workstation hardware, BIOS/UEFI configuration, firmware management, RAID setup, and drive provisioning. The role bridges technical execution with leadership, requiring skills in cross-functional collaboration, project management and strategic problem solving. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works efficiently under throughput targets, and takes pride in delivering clean, consistent builds.

    Key Responsibilities

    Team Leadership & Mentoring

    • Mentor, coach, and educate team on best practices for integration design and development
    • Conduct peer reviews, and oversee hiring and performance evaluations
    • Define project schedules, track milestones, and forecast resource capacity
    • Lead troubleshooting and resolve technical challenges

    Server Build & BOM Fulfillment

    • Execute server builds end-to-end against customer bills of materials
    • Install and verify all components per BOM: CPUs, DIMMs, NVMe/SAS/SATA drives, RAID controllers, NICs, HBAs, and PCIe expansion cards
    • Execute clean, professional-grade cable routing to ensure optimal airflow, thermal performance, and serviceability

    BIOS, UEFI & Firmware Configuration

    • Configure BIOS/UEFI settings on servers and workstations to customer or standard build specifications
    • Update iDRAC, BIOS, NIC, HBA, and drive firmware using tools (iLO, Lifecycle Controller, OMSA, Dell Repository Manager)
    • Configure boot order, Secure Boot, power profiles, and PXE settings; validate all firmware versions prior to shipment
    • Create and manage RAID volumes (RAID 0/1/5/6/10) via RAID/HBA controllers; configure virtual disks, hot spares, and validate array integrity

    Quality Control & Documentation

    • Perform POST validation and burn-in testing to ensure hardware stability and performance benchmarks are met
    • Maintain accurate build logs and quality control checklists to ensure 100% compliance with ISO guidelines and internal quality standards
    • Develop "how to" guides for various models and publish to the internal website
    • Maintain a clean, organized workbench and follow ESD handling procedures

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    • 2+ years of hands-on experience building, configuring, or servicing server hardware
    • Ability to read and execute against a technical BOM or work order with high accuracy; strong documentation habits
    • Able to work multiple projects/orders simultaneously with high accuracy and throughput
    • Proficiency with remote management interfaces (HPE iLO, Dell iDRAC) to troubleshoot and validate system configurations, as well as update firmware.
    • Familiarity with PXE booting, disk imaging, and command-line interfaces for firmware updates
    • Ability to handle delicate components and lift server chassis up to 50 lbs. and work at a bench for extended periods

    Preferred Skills and Qualifications

    • CompTIA A+, Server+, or vendor-specific certifications (Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Cisco or Supermicro)
    • Experience with NVMe provisioning, PCIe HBA/NIC configuration, and OS imaging workflows
    • Prior experience in a hardware integration, depot repair, or VAR fulfillment environment
