Position Summary

Assists Dining Room Manager with the operation of dining rooms ensuring service and food quality meets or exceeds La Posada standards. A Lead will be expected to carry out the full duties of a server in addition to Lead duties. As a Lead Worker, the incumbent functions in a lead capacity for a group of servers working on an assigned project or on a regular assigned basis. The Lead Worker does not have full formal supervisory authority for staff assigned to projects; however, in order to complete projects/assignment must be able to schedule and control the daily working arrangements for a specified group of employees. This position is reserved for La Vista and La Perla.

Essential Functions

  •  Resolve customer complaints regarding food service.
  •  Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards.
  •  Observe and evaluate workers and work procedures in order to ensure quality standards and service.
  •  Monitor compliance with policies and procedures for servers including, service, appearance, customers service and assigned duties.
  •  Monitor server sections for flow and distribution of workload, catering functions for special set ups and service issues, and salad bar and buffets for professional and appealing appearance.
  •  Complete opening and closing server duty rosters, section assignments, server schedules, and daily record of events in FOH Log and FOH Attendance in Outlook.
  •  Prepare information for supervisors as requested on dining room operation and performance.
  •  Assign duties, responsibilities, and work stations to employees in accordance with work requirements.
  •  Oversees the set-up of all stations.
  •  Checks resident floor refrigerators for cleanliness and appropriate par stock levels.
  •  May be asked to recommend measures for improving work procedures and worker performance to increase service quality and enhance job safety.
  • Participates in additional duties as assigned, that are aligned with qualifications and can be reasonably expected to be completed with minimal orientation.

Skills and Abilities

Experience: One to two years related experience

Licenses/Certificates: Title 4 Server Training required to be completed within 90 days of hire.

Basic computer skills are necessary
