The Server will deliver food, drinks, and other items from the kitchen to the dining room tables. The Server is also responsible for cleaning and resetting of tables. Must be able to obtain employee permit to serve alcohol beverages.

Responsibilities for this Position

• Performs in line with very high standards during both setup and service.
• Follows all procedures involving Indiana alcohol rules and regulations.
• Works with Supervisors and Managers to insure prompt, accurate and efficient service.
• Delivers hot plates and glassware to tables.
• Performs daily stocking and cleaning of all service areas in dining room and kitchen.
• Performs daily hand polishing of china, silver and glassware.
• Cleans and resets tables as directed by Managers and Supervisors.
• Performs nightly breakdown of side stations.
• Maintains crisp, clean uniform as outlined in restaurant guidelines.
• Must be completely knowledgeable about all food served in the restaurant.
• Performs other related reasonable duties capable of being performed as requested by Management.

Requirements

• Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One-year restaurant experience.
• Must have food and service knowledge.
• Must possess excellent communication skills.
• Must have a pleasant and positive personality.
• Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must be hands-on.
• Must always present a hospitality mentality--warm and generous.
• Must always ensure a teamwork environment.

Technical Requirements:

• Must be willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Requires strong organizational skills.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Able to be on your feet for long periods of time.
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Excellent people skills.
• Must meet grooming standards.

• Computer experience strongly desired.
• Must meet or exceed the team expectations.
• An energetic personality.

By the mid-1990s, French Lick Spring Hotel, although still in operation, was a mere shell of its former glory and the abandoned West Baden Springs Hotel was literally crumbling to the ground. As with any great comeback story, it all started with people who refused to give up - local volunteers and the folks at Indiana Landmarks.
