Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a friendly, dependable, and service-focused Server to join our culinary team at Hillcrest Country Estates Cottages in Papillion, NE.
Hillcrest Country Estates Cottages is part of the Hillcrest Country Estates campus and provides skilled nursing, long-term care, and post-acute support in a warm, home-like environment. Our cottage model allows team members to build meaningful relationships with residents, guests, families, and coworkers while creating a comfortable and personalized dining experience.
At Hillcrest, our mission is simple: Inspiring people to live their best lives. As a Server, you will help create an enjoyable dining experience while supporting food service, room-service delivery, kitchen cleanliness, and daily culinary operations.
What You'll Do
As a Server, you will assist with meal service, room-service delivery, dining-room setup, dishwashing, cleaning, and food-service support.
You will:
Receive resident and guest meal orders using the designated call system, headset, and point-of-service system.
Prepare room-service trays with all ordered menu items.
Deliver meal trays to resident rooms or suites and retrieve trays after meals.
Set up and clean the dining room, serving areas, and café spaces.
Wash dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment.
Use the dishwasher or wash items by hand to ensure equipment is clean and sanitary.
Sweep and mop kitchen, pantry, serving, and dining-room floors.
Follow proper food-handling and sanitation procedures.
Record food temperatures and dishwashing temperatures as directed.
Gather dirty linens, towels, and mop heads for laundering.
Help ensure clean linens and supplies are available for daily operations.
Remove trash and transport it to the dumpster at the end of the shift.
Stock food, utensils, paper goods, chemicals, and other supplies.
Organize supplies in storage rooms, walk-in coolers, reach-in coolers, and serving stations.
Roll silverware and prepare supplies for upcoming meal service.
Learn resident and guest dining preferences and communicate concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
Support the culinary team with cleaning, setup, and additional duties as assigned.
The role supports meal ordering, tray delivery, dishwashing, sanitation, dining-room setup, and kitchen stocking.

Previous restaurant, serving, dining-room, hospitality, or food-service experience preferred.

Strong attention to resident and guest needs and preferences.
Ability to take and communicate meal orders accurately.
Strong attention to detail with food setup, tray delivery, cleaning, and sanitation.
Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality and cleanliness.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Dependability and consistent follow-through.
Ability to remain calm, flexible, and professional during busy meal periods.
Willingness to assist with dishes, cleaning, stocking, and other culinary responsibilities.
Comfort using a headset, point-of-service system, and other workplace technology.
A professional, respectful, and team-first attitude.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience waiting tables or providing dining-room service preferred.
Previous experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, restaurants, or food service is helpful but not required.
On-the-job training will be provided.

Physical & Other Requirements
Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds.
