Job Overview:

The Scottsdale House HOA Restaurant is a private, members-only dining venue serving residents and their guests. We focus on quality service, consistency, and creating a welcoming dining experience within a close-knit community.

As the part-time Server, you are the primary point of contact for residents during their dining experience. This role is responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality table service in a hospitality-focused, resident-centered environment. Success requires strong attention to detail, the ability to anticipate guest needs, and a genuine commitment to creating a welcoming and personalized experience for a consistent, long-term resident community.

Compensation: $15.15 / hour + 18% automatic gratuity applied to every check

FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client''s property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client''s directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive, accurate, and timely table service throughout daily dining, catering, and special events
  • Build strong relationships with residents by learning preferences and delivering personalized service
  • Set and reset dining areas including linens, place settings, condiments, and décor to standard
  • Take and enter orders accurately, including dietary needs and special requests, using POS system (Toast)
  • Maintain strong knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and preparation methods to answer guest questions confidently
  • Communicate menu changes, 86'd items, and special instructions clearly between kitchen, bar, and service staff
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly while ensuring proper presentation, pacing, and table readiness
  • Provide proper tableside wine service and beverage support as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas throughout service, including clearing, resetting, and handling spills
  • Process guest payments accurately and complete proper closeout procedures in POS system
  • Follow all sanitation, safety, and alcohol service regulations
  • Support catering events, special functions, and team coverage as needed
  • Address guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong hospitality and communication skills with a focus on resident experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and composure
  • Strong attention to detail, timing, and service sequencing
  • Comfortable building rapport with a consistent, older adult clientele
  • Team-oriented with ability to work independently when needed
  • Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks during service

Education and Experience:

  • Previous serving experience (required)
  • Valid Food Handlers card required

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand and move for extended periods during shifts
  • Lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Perform repetitive motions including carrying trays, plating, and clearing tables
  • Work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and kitchen activity

Work Location: Scottsdale House Community Association; 4800 N 68th Street Scottsdale, AZ 85251

Work Hours: Restaurant hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Shifts may vary based on restaurant needs. This schedule is days, evenings and weekends as needed. Additional hours possible as business needs require; hours vary between 20 -29 hours per week and are not guaranteed.
