The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with Applebee's to find qualified candidates for Servers in Staten Island, New York. Applebee's is a U.S.-based casual dining restaurant chain known for its American-style menu and relaxed, neighborhood-themed atmosphere. The restaurant serves a variety of burgers, steaks, pasta, salads, chicken dishes, appetizers, and beverages, offering affordable, sit-down dining in a family-friendly setting.

Position Overview:

The Server is responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and attentive service to guests throughout their dining experience. This role greets customers, takes food and beverage orders, serves meals, answers menu questions, processes payments, and helps ensure guest satisfaction. Servers work closely with kitchen staff and fellow team members to provide efficient service while maintaining clean dining areas and following company policies and food safety standards.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, New York. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, attentive service throughout their dining experience.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
• Explain menu items, answer guest questions, and make recommendations when requested.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly while ensuring order accuracy and guest satisfaction.
• Process payments, including cash and credit card transactions, and complete closing duties.
• Maintain clean and organized dining areas while following food safety and sanitation standards.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and team members to provide efficient service.

 

Requirements:

• Must have at least one year of recent server experience in a busy restaurant environment.
• Strong customer service and guest relations skills.
• Ability to take accurate orders and maintain menu knowledge.
• Experience operating a POS system and processing payments.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with kitchen staff and coworkers.
• Open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Pay Range: USD $17.00 - USD $17.00 /Hr.
