Hybrid role - candidates must live within commuting distance (approx. 1 hour) of Richmond, VAThe Server Virtualization Engineer III will lead the design, implementation, and management of the organization's Virtual server infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of the server environment, as well as providing support for related services such as virtualization, server provisioning, and performance monitoring.Essential Job StatementsLead the design and implementation of Virtual server solutions to meet business requirementsOversee the management and maintenance of the Virtual server environment, including ESXi hosts and vCenter Server.Monitor and troubleshoot complex server issues, ensuring high availability and performance.Implement and manage virtualization solutions to ensure efficient resource utilization.Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate VMware server solutions with other systems and Applications.Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices for server management.Participate in the server build processParticipate in server installation within data centers, including rack and stack activitiesMentor and train junior team members.Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff.Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of IT operational systemsPatient Population: N/AEmployment QualificationsRequired Education: Bachelor's degreePreferred Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Information Systems or a related degree.Licensing/ CertificationLicensure/Certification Required: Virtual Server Certification (example: Vmware associate, broadcom virtual, or equivalent etc.)Licensure/Certification Preferred: Virt ualization Certified ProfessionalMinimum QualificationsYears and Type of Required Experience: 6+ years of experience in managing and supporting Virtual server environments. Expertise in advanced Virtual server technologies, including physical and virtual servers. Extensive experience with system monitoring, performance tuning tools, and automation. Proven track record of leading large-scale Virtual server projects and initiatives. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, especially for complex server issues. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Extensive experience with server provisioning and performance monitoring tools. Extensive experience with system monitoring, performance tuning tools, and automation.Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: N/AOther Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: In-depth knowledge of data protection and disaster recovery principles and best practices. Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO, or CIS. Extensive experience with server virtualization and software-defined server solutions. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Hands-on experience with virtualization management and implementation. Experience in integrating server solutions with other IT systems and applications. Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with security policies and best practices. Expertise in VMware technologies, including ESXi and vCenter Server.Combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree.Working Conditions: Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
