The Volunteer & Community Engagement Systems VISTA will build systems that expand volunteer capacity supporting food access programs for low-income households. Common Roots' mission is building a thriving local food system and healthy community through farming and nutrition education for all ages, where every person has equitable access to nourishing food they enjoy. The VISTA will develop recruitment pipelines, improve role structures, and create systems to track participation and retention. Example deliverables include a volunteer tracking system and engagement pathway from entry to leadership roles. This work will increase capacity, expand program reach, and improve access to healthy food. The VISTA will take ownership of these systems and collaborate within a cohort. This role strengthens long-term community engagement in the local food system.
