Position Overview

Vision IT is seeking a highly skilled Servers/Printers Systems Administrator to support mission-critical operations at Los Angeles Air Force Base. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational support for enterprise server environments, network-connected printers, and related IT infrastructure in a secure Department of Defense (DoD) environment.

This position requires onsite support, strong technical expertise, and the ability to work independently while supporting end users and mission operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and support Windows-based server infrastructure and enterprise print environments.
  • Install, configure, patch, and troubleshoot physical and virtual servers.
  • Manage network printers, print servers, queues, drivers, and firmware updates.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, backups, and security compliance.
  • Perform system upgrades, hardware replacements, and preventive maintenance.
  • Support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and user account management.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and printing issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure systems comply with DoD cybersecurity and security policies.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to remediate vulnerabilities and apply STIG requirements.
  • Provide technical support to end users and coordinate with vendors when necessary.
  • Participate in after-hours maintenance windows and on-call support as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance (required prior to start).
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in systems administration and printer/server support.
  • Experience administering Windows Server environments.
  • Knowledge of print management systems and enterprise printer support.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and DoD compliance standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer support abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA Security+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications.
  • Experience supporting DoD or federal government environments.
  • Familiarity with STIGs, ACAS, SCCM, or endpoint management tools.
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
