Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to create a welcoming atmosphere
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, including cashiering and basic math calculations
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards by following proper food handling procedures and sanitation protocols
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting dining areas efficiently, and supporting kitchen staff when needed
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs or upscale restaurants
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build guest relations and ensure guest satisfaction
- Familiarity with POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable for order processing and cash handling
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while providing attentive guest services
- Previous host/hostess or serving experience is highly valued; culinary or kitchen experience is a plus
- Basic math skills for billing accuracy and cash handling procedures
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and ensure smooth service flow
