Service Account Manager
As a global leader in intelligent building solutions, Automated Logic is expanding its NY/NJ Team and seeking a Service Account Manager to drive long-term client partnerships, service agreement execution, and operational performance across the region.
Thisrole is designed for a technical leader who thrives on mentoring, developing, and leading field engineering and account teams while acting as a trusted advisor to building owners and facility managers. You will bridge technical expertise, people leadership, and strategic account management - ensuring high customer retention, team growth, labor optimization, and recurring revenue growth across commercial, healthcare, and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Trusted Advisor: Develop and maintain long-term, high-trust relationships with building owners, facility directors, MEP engineers, and key decision-makers across commercial, healthcare, and institutional facilities.
- Customer Retention: Conduct regular account reviews, site assessments, and operational check-ins to ensure high client retention and customer satisfaction.
- System Modernization: Identify opportunities for system upgrades, retrofits, energy optimization, and cybersecurity enhancements across client building automation platforms.
- Issue Resolution: Serve as the primary point of escalation for client concerns, collaborating closely with service technicians and operations teams to deliver fast, effective resolutions.
- People Leadership: Lead, mentor, and empower field technicians, service managers, and project coordinators to deliver exceptional technical service and customer satisfaction.
- Talent Development: Establish clear career pathways, conduct regular performance reviews, and build tailored technical and professional mentoring plans for junior and senior staff.
- Service Agreement Ownership: Manage the complete lifecycle of service contracts, including pricing strategies, contract renewals, scope expansions, and re-estimates.
- P&L & Account Profitability: Monitor account margins, labor utilization impacts, billing accuracy, and cash flow (A/R collections) to maximize division profitability.
- Pricing & Labor Dynamics: Apply local market understanding to navigate competitive regional pricing, union labor cost structures, and subcontractor management.
- Technical Guidance: Leverage deep BAS and HVAC control knowledge to educate clients on product capabilities, emerging smart building technologies, and energy savings strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, project management, and field technicians to develop technical solutions, cost estimates, and scope definitions for client retrofits and upgrades.
- Service Operations Oversight: Coordinate with field engineers and project leaders to ensure resource allocation aligns with contract commitments and customer schedules.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED
- 8+ years in the Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC operations, or mechanical service industry
- 2+ years of proven experience managing service contract renewals, project management, recurring revenue models, account margins, and/or labor utilization.
- 2+ years of demonstrated ability to manage relationships with high-value facility accounts and navigate complex contractual scopes.
- Valid driver's license and ability to visit regional client sites regularly, up to 50% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated willingness and proven track record of mentoring, coaching, and leading technical teams
- Strong background in account or project management, contract execution, and team oversight.
- Deep familiarity with Automated Logic (WebCTRL®), Johnson Controls (Metasys), Niagara (Tridium), KMC Controls, or other major BAS platforms.
- Proven track record working with healthcare/pharmaceutical (GMP environments), commercial office buildings, and/or higher education facilities.
- Familiarity with union labor environments, mechanical retrofits, and electrical subcontractor coordination.
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $96,000.00 - $192,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other Compensation
This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
