    About the Role

    The Service Advisor greets customers, listens to their vehicle concerns, determines the required service, and prepares accurate repair orders. This role communicates with customers regarding costs, service options, and vehicle care while coordinating with technicians and other service staff to ensure high-quality work and customer satisfaction.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Greet customers promptly and obtain vehicle information
    • Advise customers on necessary routine maintenance and additional services
    • Identify mechanical problems through customer questioning, visual inspections, and test drives
    • Prepare repair orders showing labor and parts estimates
    • Write clear descriptions of customer concerns to assist technicians
    • Explain work performed and repair order charges to customers
    • Handle customer complaints professionally
    • Schedule service appointments and obtain customer/vehicle data prior to arrival
    • Test drive vehicles with customers as needed to confirm concerns
    • Refer to service history, inspect vehicles, and recommend additional maintenance
    • Provide accurate written estimates for labor and parts
    • Establish promised time and communicate with dispatch as needed
    • Obtain customer signatures and method of payment, including credit approval if necessary
    • Notify dispatcher of incoming work and track repair progress
    • Contact customers regarding changes to estimates or completion time and obtain authorization for additional work
    • Implement and maintain service marketing programs
    • Review and close repair orders, noting additional work and authorization
    • Ensure vehicles are parked, secured, and keys are properly handled
    • Keep service department forms, menus, and pricing guides up-to-date
    • Implement quality control processes to reduce comebacks
    • Maintain high customer satisfaction standards
    • Answer phone inquiries regarding appointments and work in progress
    • Inspect vehicles for body work needs, provide estimates, and communicate with customers
    • Maintain professional appearance and clean work area
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Previous automotive service or customer service experience preferred
    • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
    • Knowledge of automotive systems, repair procedures, and dealership processes helpful
    • Professional appearance and demeanor

    Work Environment

    Dealership service environment with frequent interaction with technicians, management, and customers.
