Position Summary

The Service Cashier / Rental Coordinator is responsible for accurately processing service and parts transactions while providing outstanding customer service. This position also manages the dealership's rental vehicle program, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for customers who need alternate transportation while their vehicle is being serviced. This role supports both the Service and Parts departments and plays a key part in creating an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner
  • Process cash, check, and credit card payments; issue receipts and refunds
  • Operate and balance the cash register daily
  • Close repair orders and maintain accurate transaction records
  • Coordinate rental vehicle reservations, check-outs, and returns
  • Verify rental agreements, driver's licenses, insurance information, and vehicle condition
  • Maintain rental fleet schedules and communicate vehicle availability with Service Advisors
  • Assist customers with rental questions and explain rental policies
  • Direct customer questions to the appropriate Service Advisor as needed
  • Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate when appropriate
  • Provide phone coverage and clerical support for the Service and Parts departments
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and professional appearance

Qualifications

  • Previous customer service, cashiering, or administrative experience preferred
  • Experience coordinating rentals or scheduling is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn dealership software
