Service Electrician

Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site electrical assessments of residential and commercial systems to identify root causes, safety issues, and code concerns
- Diagnose, repair, and replace electrical components, including panels, breakers, wiring, receptacles, switches, lighting, EV chargers, generators, and related equipment
- Conduct full system evaluations and provide clear options with upfront pricing for repairs and upgrades
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in offices, retail spaces, restaurants, and light industrial facilities
- Install, maintain, and upgrade electrical systems, including panels, feeders, circuits, lighting, and controls
- Respond to scheduled and emergency service calls to minimize downtime and provide timely solutions
- Perform lighting installations, LED retrofits, and lighting control repairs
- Test systems and components using appropriate meters and diagnostic tools to verify proper operation and safety.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to homeowners and commercial contacts
- Document work, materials, and site conditions in field service software
- Collect payment and ensure required documentation and job close-out processes are completed
- Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and protect company equipment
- Follow NEC requirements, OSHA standards, company safety procedures, and PPE guidelines
- Participate in meetings, ongoing training, and coaching sessions
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold company values and customer service standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of electrical service experience with strong residential troubleshooting skills and some commercial service exposure
- Knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes
- Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and one-lines
- Experience working on residential systems (120/240V) and commercial systems (120/208V-277/480V typical)
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills with customers and team members
- Comfortable using smartphones/tablets and field service software
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, ladders, and lifts
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass background check, drug testing, and MVR screening
- U.S. citizenship required
- Journeyman license preferred or equivalent demonstrable field experience
Pay and Benefits
- Full-time employment
- Base pay starting at $20 to 40/hour (commensurate with experience and licensing)
- Overtime eligibility in accordance with federal and state law

Work Environment
- Field-based role working in residential homes, commercial buildings, and light industrial environments
- Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and ladder work in attics, crawl spaces, ceilings, and confined areas
- Regular lifting and carrying of materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs; more with assistance)
- Exposure to energized equipment, heights, and typical job-site conditions while following all safety procedures
- Use of service vehicles, hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and mobile devices
- Occasional overtime, nights, or weekends for emergency calls or project deadlines
- Adherence to safety standards, electrical codes, and professional conduct expectations
