    Job Title: Service Engineer

    Location(s): Belleville, IL


    Overview
    We are seeking an experienced On-Site Service Engineer to provide hands-on support for enterprise server and data center environments, including next-generation AI infrastructure. This customer-facing role is ideal for professionals with strong server hardware and data center experience who enjoy troubleshooting complex technical issues and ensuring maximum system availability.

    Previous AI platform experience is not required. Strong experience with enterprise servers and data center hardware is the primary requirement.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide on-site support for enterprise servers and data center infrastructure.
    • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair server hardware.
    • Perform server builds, deployments, swaps, and component replacements.
    • Replace CPUs, memory, power supplies, GPUs, storage devices, and other server components.
    • Perform firmware updates and preventive maintenance activities.
    • Diagnose hardware, firmware, and operating system issues.
    • Escalate complex issues following established support procedures.
    • Document service activities accurately and in real time.
    • Collaborate with internal engineering teams and customer stakeholders.
    • Participate in scheduled on-call rotations and support after-hours maintenance when required.

    Required Qualifications

    • 3–5+ years of experience supporting enterprise servers, data centers, or field service environments.
    • Hands-on experience with Dell or comparable enterprise server platforms.
    • Experience with:
      • Server hardware installation and repair
      • Server deployments and replacements
      • CPU, memory, power supply, GPU, and storage replacements
      • Rack-mounted servers
    • Working knowledge of Linux operating systems.
    • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently in customer environments.
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Dell or other server vendor certifications.
    • Experience supporting water-cooled servers.
    • Personal PC building or lab experience.
    • Experience following documented Plans of Action (POAs).
    • Continuous learning mindset with interest in emerging technologies, including AI infrastructure.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to work in data center environments.
    • Ability to support flexible schedules and on-call rotations.

    Candidate Requirements

    Applicants should:

    • Reside within approximately a 45-minute commute of Belleville, IL (relocation may be considered with prior approval).
    • Be willing to work on-site full-time.
    • Be available for on-call support.
    • Be comfortable working in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.
    • Possess excellent documentation and communication skills.
    • Demonstrate strong accountability, initiative, and teamwork.

    Preferred Candidate Profile

    Successful candidates will have experience with:

    • Enterprise data center operations
    • Server hardware maintenance
    • Server deployments and upgrades
    • Linux administration
    • Hardware troubleshooting
    • Customer-facing technical support
    • Technical documentation
    • Fast-paced production environments

    Note

    • Weekly project touchpoint meetings are required throughout the engagement.
    • Candidates with strong enterprise server and data center experience are encouraged to apply, even without prior AI infrastructure experience.

    Schedule:

    • Monday–Friday, 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM
    • Must be available for occasional shift changes and on-call support
