Job Title: Service Engineer

Location(s): Ellendale, ND


Key Requirements:

  • Must reside within a 45-minute commute of Ellendale, ND (unless pre-approved for relocation).
  • 3–5+ years of experience supporting enterprise servers or data center hardware.
  • Hands-on experience with Dell PowerEdge servers is highly preferred.
  • Strong server hardware troubleshooting and component replacement experience.
  • Customer-facing support experience.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site technical support for enterprise server and data center environments.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair Dell server hardware.
  • Perform server builds, hardware swaps, firmware updates, and preventive maintenance.
  • Replace server components including CPUs, memory, power supplies, GPUs, storage, and complete server units.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and operating system issues.
  • Support next-generation AI infrastructure platforms (prior AI experience not required).
  • Escalate complex issues following established support procedures.
  • Document service activities accurately and maintain detailed service records.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal engineering teams to minimize downtime.
  • Participate in weekly customer touchpoint meetings.
  • Support after-hours and on-call activities as required.

Required Skills:

  • Enterprise server and data center support.
  • Dell PowerEdge server experience (highly preferred).
  • Server deployment and hardware installation.
  • CPU, memory, GPU, power supply, storage, and motherboard replacement.
  • Server builds and server swaps.
  • Linux administration and troubleshooting.
  • Hardware diagnostics and root cause analysis.
  • Firmware upgrades.
  • Customer-facing technical support.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Water-cooled server experience.
  • Dell or other OEM server certifications.
  • Personal PC building experience.
  • Experience following documented Plans of Action (POA).
  • Interest in emerging technologies including AI infrastructure.

Notes:

  • Weekly customer touchpoint meetings are mandatory throughout the engagement.
  • AI platform experience is not required; strong server and data center fundamentals are the primary qualification.
  • Candidates with Dell PowerEdge server experience will receive strong preference.

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
  • Must be available for occasional shift coverage and on-call support.
