Summary
Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence Business Area is seeking a Service Engineer to support customers throughout the state of Michigan. This is a remote, home-based position requiring regional travel to customer worksites within Michigan

What You''ll Do
As a Service Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring customer success by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing high-precision Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and related equipment. You will work independently in customer manufacturing environments, diagnose complex mechanical and electronic systems, and deliver exceptional service that strengthens long-term customer relationships.
Install, repair, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain CMM systems at customer locations.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software-related system issues and implement corrective actions.
Provide technical training and operational guidance to customers on machine operation and preventative maintenance.
Accurately document service activities and submit detailed service reports.
Partner cross-functionally with technical support and engineering teams to resolve complex issues.
Deliver high levels of customer satisfaction while managing service schedules effectively.
Travel throughout the Orlando territory (up to 100%) to support customer needs.
Lift and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted and work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including overtime as required to meet customer needs.
Qualifications
Must be located near Dearborn, MI.
Technical degree (Technical School, Associate, or Bachelor's) in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, Mechatronics, or related field, or Military Technical School training and experience.
Hands-on experience using hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.
Strong mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting capabilities.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in dynamic environments.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to regularly lift and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
Prior experience with CMM equipment or industrial automation is preferred.
Work Environment

This role is primarily field-based, supporting customers at manufacturing and industrial worksites across Michigan.
Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in industrial environments.
Regularly lift and/or move equipment up to 75 pounds.
Manual dexterity required for tool usage, keyboard use, and equipment handling.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Frequently communicates with customers and internal teams.
Noise levels may range from low to moderate in customer facilities.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided as required.
Travel required up to 100% within Michigan.
