Service Intern 

Summary 

An opportunity to gain experience in the medical device service industry by learning the servicing processes and procedures of a medical device manufacturing company. Service Interns will learn and gain experience in all Servicing activities via classroom, hands-on, and field experience to meet their Internship requirements. 

Direct Report: Director of Service 

Works regularly with the Director of Operations, Field Service Manager, Depot Service Managers, Depot Technicians, and Field Service Technicians. 

Responsibilities 

  • Assemble Service Components: Fabricate and prepare various subassemblies to support service operations. 
    • Perform Temperature Probe Maintenance 
      • Clean and inspect temperature probes. 
      • Conduct functional verification of probes for both field and depot service needs. 
      • Accurately document all maintenance activities in accordance with quality standards. 
    • Support Part Requisition and Shipping 
      • Retrieve and organize service parts for Field Service Technicians. 
      • Assist in packaging and shipping components to regional service personnel. 
    • Cut and organize hose materials for Field Service Technicians 
    • Support cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols across the service area throughout the week 
    • Serves existing accounts by analyzing work orders, investigating complaints, conducting tests, and resolving problems 
    • Establishes service by studying system requirements, gathering components and parts, completing repairs, and performing acceptance tests. 
    • Keeps personal equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance. 
    • Documents service actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records. 
    • Maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential and following HIPAA requirements. 
    • Assist with other service-related activities as directed by the Service Managers 
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

Requirements & Qualifications 

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. 
  • 1 year of technical school training
