The Service Inventory Specialist is a warehouse & office-based role responsible for supporting service
department operations with a primary focus on inventory management, parts logistics, and internal
field support coordination.
This role owns the day-to-day management of service parts inventory at the corporate office, field
service vans, and remote service locations. The Specialist works closely with field technicians and
internal cross-functional teams to ensure accurate inventory levels, timely parts fulfillment, and
consistent operational processes.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Own Service Department inventory processes and procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions within Microsoft Business Central and Salesforce
software platforms.
- Maintain inventory levels at MDT, field service vans, and remote service locations.
- Coordinate van inventory management with field technicians, including restocking and inventory audits.
- Support service scheduling by coordinating parts availability and ensuring required parts are shipped and onsite prior to scheduled service work.
- Manage service parts consumption tracking for completed jobs.
- Coordinate physical shipping of parts and supplies.
- Own the Service Department's role in the RMA process to ensure proper return of parts and adherence to procedures.
- Coordinate with Engineering to ensure parts requiring inspection, special handling, or RMA disposition are processed, documented, and released efficiently according to procedure.
- Serve as the internal point of contact for field technicians regarding parts availability,supplies, and inventory-related questions.
- Perform routine inventory audits and reconciliation activities to ensure system accuracy between physical inventory and Salesforce/ Business Central platforms.
- Report identified component issues or failures via the Continuous Improvement process.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Project Management, Installation, and Production to ensure efficient parts flow.
- Assist with special projects as directed.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2-10 years of work experience in a similar role related to the technical service industry

Work Environment:
This job operates in a warehouse environment at the corporate office.
Tools and Equipment:
- Computer, telephone, copy & fax machines. etc. Pallet jacks/forklift, shipping and receiving tools, etc.
Work Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Occasional travel is required.
Training:
Training for this position will be conducted per HydroWorx Training Program.
