Responsible for daily operations, staff, performance improvement, compliance with accreditation standards, budget and quality outcomes.
Manage and direct the daily operation of assigned areas and staff. Develop, implement, maintain and enforce departmental programs, policies, procedures and protocols. Ensure and maintain required documentation for compliance with safety, environmental and infection control standards and with local, state and federal regulations. Monitor compliance with standards, identify variances or inabilities to meet established targets and implement action to ensure that targets are met.

Daily Work Schedules are completed and available 2 weeks in advance to the staff on X-drive or posted. FML/PTO requests are maintained and updated weekly.
Maintain competencies as needed to meet operational needs.
Evaluates and recommends contractual agreements for equipment, reagents, and maintenance selection/replacement pricing.
Develops and implements Pathology Center departmental policies and procedures as well as laboratory and organizational strategic planning.
Participates in, or ensures preparedness for, CAP and other regulatory inspections both onsite and offsite.
Participates in mandatory in-services and/or CE programs as mandated by policies and procedures and/or external agencies and as directed by laboratory and hospital leadership.
