The Automotive Service Manager is responsible for overseeing daily service operations to ensure exceptional customer service, efficient work processes, and a profitable service department. This role involves managing a team of technicians, service advisors, and support staff while working closely with other departments to maintain a high level of performance and coordination throughout the dealership.
Responsibilities:
Manage service department employees, including technicians, service advisors, and support staff, to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the service experience, from appointment scheduling and vehicle drop-off to final vehicle delivery, maintaining open communication and delivering exceptional service.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with other departmental managers to ensure efficient coordination and communication between departments.
Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and dealership policies related to service department operations, including safety, environmental, and customer service standards.
Provide guidance, training, and support to service department employees to improve performance, develop skills, and enhance career growth opportunities.
Monitor service department performance through the use of key performance indicators and take corrective action as needed to improve results.
Manage inventory levels and ensure accurate record-keeping to minimize loss and promote profitability.
Handle customer concerns, follow-ups, and communications with the service department.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience managing an automotive service department, mechanic shop, or related operation.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of automotive service management software.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Pay depends on experience.
