Job Summary
We are looking for a Service Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and customer relationship skills, strong service writer capabilities, and previous management experience. This position also requires strong diagnostic skills 


Every day is different in our busy automotive service center! You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including overseeing service technicians, addressing customer inquiries, and managing required documentation.
 
Responsibilities 
  • Manage a team of automotive service professionals to ensure a high level of employee morale and customer satisfaction while maintaining profitability
  • Ensure repairs and maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Mentor employees on best practices for improving  service techniques
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the service department
  • Manage the flow of service department paperwork, including manuals, invoices, repair orders, and maintenance records
  •  Assisting in diagnosing vehicles, quality control over all repairs.
 Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and clean driving record are required
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and background screening
  • At least two years of experience as an automotive service writer or service advisor is required. Experience as an automotive service manager is preferred
  • ASE Certification:
    While not always required, certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is often a preferred qualification 
  • Skills:
    Customer Service:
    The ability to provide excellent, courteous, and effective service to customers is crucial. 
  • Communication:
    Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for explaining repairs, managing customer expectations, and maintaining rapport. 
  • Technical Knowledge:
    A strong and through understanding of vehicle systems, repairs, and maintenance is necessary to effectively diagnose issues and create estimates. 
  • Computer Proficiency:
    Basic computer skills are needed to operate service databases and other relevant software applications. 
  • Sales and Problem-Solving:
    The role involves upselling services, presenting options, and effectively resolving complex customer issues. 
  • Organizational Skills:
    The ability to multitask, prioritize repairs, and keep records organized is important in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Professionalism:
    A high level of integrity and professionalism is expected when interacting with customers and colleagues.
