We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Distribution Center Manager / Service Manager to oversee the overall operation and profitability of our Concord, NC distribution center, servicing not only local customers but also a network of other regional distribution centers.

In this pivotal role, youll oversee warehouse functions-from inventory management and production to staffing and safety-ensuring efficient workflows and exceptional service levels. As a hands-on leader, youll guide and develop warehouse and driver teams, uphold operational and safety standards, and step in as acting General Manager when needed. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a courteous, customer service-oriented attitude.
  • P&L management, including reviewing operational cost budget performance and variance, monitoring targets of key performance metrics, and profitability of HUB door center.
  • Staffing, development, training, direction, and supervision of hourly team members, to include warehouse drivers, box truck & CDL, and production.
  • Coordinate assembly work schedules and warehouse operations to ensure service leads are met.
  • Establish and enforce operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and keeping of warehouse inventory.
  • Ensure the availability of parts required for warehouse assembly and production by coordinating with the General Manager.
  • Ensure that corporate programs regarding safety, security, care of equipment, and facility are followed.
  • Enforce OSHA compliance and to assure an injury-free workplace.
  • Inspect warehouse facilities and equipment and recommend changes in allocation of space and storage procedures to General Manager.
  • Inspect physical condition of warehouse and equipment and schedule needed maintenance.
  • Investigate customer complaints involving such matters as damaged items, overcharges, and delay in shipment, and confer with General Manager on necessary adjustment.

Qualifications

  • College education or related experience.
  • Must have previous leadership experience in distribution warehouse or similar environment.
  • Demonstrable supervisory leadership and motivational skills.
  • Experience with continuous improvement, Kanban, Gemba, and KPIs strongly preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Word.
  • Must be at least 21 years old with a valid drivers license, including endorsements/class requirements as per State & DOT regulations.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical and maintain a DOT medical card during employment.
  • Motor vehicle report must meet Amarr driver standards.
  • Clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude/power tools.

Physical Demands

  • Work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse facility.
  • Extended time on feet, walking distances up to 200 feet.
  • Frequent stooping, bending, walking, carrying, and lifting 50-75 pounds.

  • This position is Monday - Friday, occasional weekend days as necessary.
