Bortek Industries is growing its Pittsburgh service team and looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain municipal and commercial street sweepers at our shop and customer locations throughout Western Pennsylvania.

Your Role

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain street sweepers and associated equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance per manufacturer recommendations and company standards
• Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, pneumatic systems, and mechanical components
• Use electronic diagnostic tools, service manuals, and technical schematics to identify issues
• Repair and replace pumps, vacuum systems, brooms, conveyors, water systems, suspension components, and other sweeper-specific systems
• Conduct equipment inspections and identify potential concerns before failures occur
• Complete work orders, inspection reports, and service documentation accurately and on time
• Perform warranty repairs per manufacturer guidelines
• Provide field service support at customer locations as needed
• Communicate repair findings and recommendations to service management and customers
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy equipment, diesel, construction equipment, truck, agricultural, or industrial equipment repair
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service documentation
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical degree or certification in Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, Automotive Technology, or related field
• Experience servicing street sweepers, municipal equipment, construction equipment, or vocational trucks
• Welding and fabrication experience
• CDL or ability to obtain one
• Experience with OEM diagnostic software and electronic controls
